Isle of Palms, SC beautiful skies…

Jeff and Jaime had their wedding at Alhambra Hall in Mt. Pleasant, SC but a wedding photo on the beach was on their “must have” list. Immediately following the ceremony, (after signing the marriage license in their photographer’s van), they grabbed their Bestman, Maid of Honor and their puppy and headed to the beach for some quick photos… Their guests didn’t complain about the wait, Hamby’s Catering provided some hors douerves and ice tea vodka on the back lawn of Alhambra.

Work it Girl! And make sure your photographer is ready (and you’ve got lots of bobby pins). I just love a veil, especially the long ones. They do have their challenges when the wind is up like it was this evening, but D’Lee had so much fun on the Charleston Battery and they photos were worth the struggle (ha!). Her wedding was August 21st at Folly Beach, SC, but she she loves downtown Charleston, SC so much that she had her Bridal Portraits done here. You can see all of her portraits at http://sherryferguson.com/bride%20gallery/dlee/index.

Wedding at I’on, Charleston, SC

So excited about the wedding I am currently working on at I’on. The Bride is simply beautiful (look for photos soon) and her style is certainly not traditional. My kind of bride! Her colors are black, green and white. We are incorporating lovely guinea feathers into her theme (black feather with white polka dots, so cool). We are making our arrangements very simple using curly willow trees (we are creating), green orchids and LCD lights. Next week, we’ll post the photos and see how all turns out.

Charleston Weddings are getting ready to take off. Many brides are working on a budget and we are being creative with our decorating budget. Stay elegant for less and not look cheap. That’s my motto. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers they take up a lot of space and can be tinted to suit your color palette. Who can resist soft blue and lime green combos?
portrait photography in Charleston, SC

Love to work one on one in portrait work. Especially getting outside and working in natural light with some of the beautiful backdrops in charleston. Old brick facades, made even better when they are aged and crumbling. Cobblestone, iron gates in the background. LOVE this town. More than 30 years of living here and I never get tired of going downtown and just walking around. Forgive me, Charleston residents, if you’ve seen peering into your backyard garden. Or just standing in the street staring up at a particularly old and beautiful house. And trust me, many have seen me with my camera…
When I was a teenager I used to love to read stories of Charleston in the civil war era. One of my favorite lines was a Union soldier describing the city after occupation. He said that “she” Charleston, was much like the southern lady, even in her worst hour, she was proud, holding her head high as if nothing had happened, never once letting on that she suffered or had suffered, looking down her nose at the union soldiers. I sadly, can claim none of the Charleston “royalty” bloodline, my people were chicken thieves from Georgia. But I do love this beautiful old town. Check out these senior photos of Andersen and the beautiful backgrounds of Charleston.

Whoa, hello all you future brides and grooms. This is my first post ever to my BLOG. I’m a little late to this party, but I’ll catch on. Not quite sure what I will be using it for… I think I will post photos here of my couples and ideas. Maybe talk about upcoming events. Ya’ll let me know what you think we should do here.
I’ll start this off by putting one of my favorite quotes about love. I’m a huge fan of quotes. Tell me your favorites. I like to put this one on my slideshows. So simple, yet poignant.
I love you – those three words have my life in them.
